Deborah Herriage

A practicing yoga enthusiast, Deborah Herriage has studied various styles of yoga such as Hatha, Kundalini, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Bikram Yoga since 1979.   She has incorporated Yoga and Ayurveda into her lifestyle, and readily attends to others who want to learn the art and science of connecting mind, body, and soul.   Deborah teaches a centered approach to Hatha Yoga, including variations and modifications for the less flexible, and Vinyasas (flows) for incorporation of movement with the breath.  Ayurvedic concepts of diet and physical constitution maintain an important position in her teachings to give students a broader scope in taking responsibility for their health.  She focuses on building strength and flexibility using alignment in asana, a technique introduced to the West by B.K.S. Iyengar.   She completed a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification program at YogaYoga, in Austin, Texas and is registered with Yoga Alliance, an international yoga standards organization that provides recognition and support to yoga teachers.  Deborah's experience and cumulative knowledge of yoga qualify her to teach a classroom session, and on an individual, one-on-one basis.

There she had the opportunity to study with teachers from a variety of traditions including Iyengar, Kundalini and Ashtanga. Amy encourages her students to stay connected to their breath throughout their practice. Asanas are taught in a flowing series and held from a few breaths to a few minutes. Each class begins and ends with a meditation practice. Amy believes that a strong yoga practice can lead to a healthy body, sound mind and balanced life.

Wendy Davis
Wendy brings balance to her class by increasing awareness of the mind/body connection. She is a registered nurse and has been a fitness instructor for 28 years. For the past ten years she has focused on yoga, believing in the therapeutic benefits of the Iyengar style. Benefits include improved posture, muscle strengthening, and stress release. Her classes are easy to follow for individuals new to yoga, but also provide enough challenge and information for intermediate students to further their training. Wendy uses her medical background to educate and protect her students regarding the specific benefits and risks involved with each yoga asana. She provides
individualized guidance with attention given to specific physical and health challenges. In this class you can expect a refreshing experience as you develop both your Hatha skills, and your inner well being.
